Well, the writing has taken a back seat to a busy fall. With coaching, the start of a new school year and other obligations, I am afraid the writing has not moved along as well as I had hoped. I am persevering, studying writing styles and looking for ways to "juice up" The 5th Bell.
I am hopeful that fall will bring a time for more re

What a fabulous fall day! This time of year is always fun and full of things to do. Unfortunately, with all there is to do, there is little time to write. I need to make time for that and plan to today. Enjoy the beginning of fall weather

Happy Labor Day! As we conclude another summer-one for the  record books-I am continuing to put the finishing touches on The 5th Bell. The story has taken a couple twists both in my mind and on the written page. Letters of query are being drafted and the publishing process begins. I can hope for a quick process but realize it may take time.
In the mean time, I'll continue to

Good morning readers!
The summer is quickly fading and after the incredibly hot summer, the cool hint of autumn's approach is appreciated.
The 5th Bell continues to progress. A couple new twists have been added that I hope will entertain and enthuse anyone who reads it. I hope to have it finished soon as letters of query are being drafted. Unlike Middle School Menace, I am hoping to get the 5th Bell published in print and e-books.

If there is one thing nice about the hot weather, it makes me want to stay in and write! I always feel badly writing inside when the weather is nice and there are things to do. Since this is not my full time job, I keep busy with other things. This oppresive weather has given me a good chance and opportunity to write more, work less.
I hope that you are safe and doing well!

If all goes as planned, The 5th Bell will be finished by the end of summer. There are a couple new characters and a sub-plot that has been added. I think you'll like it. Look for a sample coming out soon.

The 5th Bell continues to take shape. Since the story begins in two centuries, a lot of research is needed to show accuracy. I am loving the research! History has never been my forte but finding out information is. The research of Traverse City, scuba diving and putting it into a piece of fiction is becoming more and more intriguing as I go.

Sometimes we let things in our life get in the way of others. With the everyday stresses we all face, it is sometimes difficult to kick back and enjoy that which we enjoy. My goal this week is to write everyday. Time management is a feat worth dealing with.
Here's a short story starter for you to try. See what you can come up with and e-mail it to me. I'd love to read what you have!
Story starter: There wasn't much time, he knew that. But the task had to be completed!

It's been a long and hectic week. I've been working on my second book. It's great to be in a school and use the setting as a model for the book, the character's activities and even some of the characters. In this book I am also calling upon experiences and locations from my high school days and juxtopositioning them with a middle school setting. Fun times!
